Glass Sand

About Glass Sand

Glass Sand A special type of sand that is suitable for glass making because of its high silica content, and its low content of iron oxide, chromium, cobalt and other colorants.

The process of transportation and sedimentation of sand followed by concentration of quartz in significant volume along with the removal of other minerals leads to the accumulation of glass sand.

Road surface

Glass sand is used to create road surfaces. It perfectly removes water; when glass sand is used for the road surface, the quality of the road surface improves. Glass sand can be mixed with gravel and used separately or as an additive to asphalt. When adding glass sand to asphalt mixture, its durability increases and the costs for road construction are reduced.

Concrete mixture

Glass sand can be used for preparation of concrete mixture as a substitute for sand or gravel. Glass sand weighs less than regular sand, so a cubic meter of concrete weighs less, but has the same durability.
