Phosphate

About Phosphate

Phosphates are the naturally occurring form of the element phosphorus, found in many phosphate minerals. In mineralogy and geology, phosphate refers to a rock or ore containing phosphate ions. Inorganic phosphates are mined to obtain phosphorus for use in agriculture and industry.

Phosphate mineral is one of naturally occurring inorganic salts of phosphoric acid, H3(PO4).

- More than 200 species of phosphate minerals are recognized, and structurally they all have isolated (PO4) tetrahedral units.

Phosphate

Phosphate Uses

It’s used in detergents manufacturing and works to remove hardness of water.

Phosphate is one of the major elements that are used in agricultural fertilizer manufacturing. ( Rock phosphate uses )

Phosphoric acid production.

Phosphate chemical compounds production.

The Egyptian rock phosphate is one of the purest types of phosphate that’s exported to some major industrial countries such as Japan for many advanced industrial purposes.

Rock phosphate is used in calcium superphosphate 15% production and that’s by the interaction of rock phosphate with phosphoric and sulfuric acids.

Used in organic agriculture with some types of bacteria that dissolve rock phosphate.
